We consider QKD based on time entangled photons, with detectors that exhibit timing jitter and detector downtime. Timing jitter introduces local errors, necessitating key reconciliation. The detector downtime introduces memory which results in key bits that are not uniformly random. Both effects cause key rate loss. We focus on detector downtime and develop a method to compute the key rate loss. |
